Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti reflected on his side’s performance against Arsenal in the second leg of their UCL quarter-final tie in his post-match conference.
In the presser, he acknowledged Arsenal’s dominance over the two legs following his team’s 2-1 defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu, which resulted in a 5-1 aggregate loss in the Champions League quarter-finals.
“Arsenal were better than us over both legs,” Ancelotti admitted, accepting the outcome without complaints. He noted that while Thibaut Courtois saved an early penalty from Bukayo Saka, the team failed to capitalize on that momentum.
Addressing his future, Ancelotti expressed gratitude toward the club, stating, “The day I leave here, I can only be thankful to the club.” He spoke about his commitment to the remaining competitions, including La Liga, the Copa del Rey final, and the Club World Cup.
Ancelotti also highlighted the need to accept criticism and maintain resilience, acknowledging that the team lacked the collective attitude seen in previous seasons. He remains optimistic about the squad’s ability to respond positively in upcoming matches.
