The £74m signing has sat on the bench for two of the club’s first Premier League games
Ruben Amorim has defended his decision to ease Benjamin Sesko into life at Manchester United after leaving the striker out of the starting line-up for the second successive game.
Sesko, signed from RB Leipzig this summer for £74m, has featured only as a substitute so far, making a brief debut against Arsenal before being kept on the bench and then brought on just before the hour mark in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Fulham.
Mason Mount once again played as a left-sided No 10, while Bryan Mbeumo played on the right and Matheus Cunha led the attack.
Amorim said: “We tried to imagine what is going to happen during the game. Our team needs to be consistent in the way that we control the game and we need to have options to play a different game on the bench.
“Sesko has had two weeks for us. He is trying to understand everything. We need to wait a little bit to help the player. We just want to win the game and try to help all of our players.”
