Allegri Says AC Milan’s Season Starts Today

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri believes the season ‘starts today’ as they prepare to face Bologna in Serie A.

AC Milan’s head coach, Massimiliano Allegri, is gearing up for a crucial match against Bologna in Serie A, believing that the season “practically starts today.”

After a mixed start to the season, with a surprise defeat to Cremonese followed by a win against Lecce, Allegri is focused on improving his team’s performance. He acknowledges that Bologna is a formidable opponent, known for their speed, technique, and intensity.

Allegri expressed his satisfaction with the squad he has available, highlighting the good mix of youth and experience.

He praised the club’s efforts in bringing in new players, including Adrien Rabiot and Christopher Nkunku, who will add depth and quality to the team. According to Allegri, the goal is to return to the Champions League, and he believes that the team has the potential to achieve it.

However, Allegri also spoke on the challenges that lies ahead, emphasizing that there are “too many variables in football” that can affect the outcome of a match. He stressed the importance of being prepared and focused, particularly against a team like Bologna, who are getting used to being high up in the standings.

One of the key absences for Milan will be Rafael Leao, who has a problem with his soleus muscle. Allegri confirmed that Leao will not be available against Bologna and is likely to miss the next match against Udinese as well. This injury will put additional pressure on the team, and Allegri will need to find alternative solutions to fill the gap.

Allegri also spoke about the signings of Rabiot and Nkunku. He noted that Rabiot is physically fine, while Nkunku is still recovering from a lack of training with Chelsea. Allegri also praised Santiago Gimenez, saying that the Mexican striker has returned from the national team in good form and will need time to adapt to the team.
