AC Milan players Rafael Leao and Ardon Jashari insist their 1-1 draw against Como was a stronger performance than their 3-1 win over the same team last month.

Despite the draw, AC Milan remain seven points behind leaders Inter in the Serie A table.

Leao believes Milan should have won the game, citing their better performance compared to the previous match. “We had more of the ball, although we should’ve been more decisive in front of goal in the first half,” he told reporters.

Jashari agrees, stating, “It was for sure a difficult game, but we played better than the first game in Como”.

Milan’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan made a costly error, gifting Nico Paz the opener. However, Leao’s lobbed equalizer showcased the team’s determination. Leao ran over to console Maignan after the goal.

Despite the draw, AC Milan’s unbeaten run extends to 24 rounds. Leao remains optimistic about their Scudetto chances, saying, “There are many games left to play, Serie A is becoming a very difficult league, you never know who can win or lose.”

Jashari’s first start in midfield alongside Luka Modric was a success, with the midfielder providing a crucial assist.

Leao concluded his interview by adding that, “He [Maignan] is a very important person for me… It was a difficult moment after that error, but this is a fantastic group, we have the energy to aim high”.

After the game, there was a rout between Allegri and Fabregas, with Allegri getting sent off. While more details emerge from the incident, Fabregas has apologized to Allegri, hoping that rather than argue on the field, they can do let football do the talking.
