AC Milan and Divock Origi have mutually terminated his contract, ending a disastrous 2-year tenure with just 27 appearances and 2 goals.
AC Milan has finally parted ways with Divock Origi after months of negotiations. The 30-year-old striker, who joined the Rossoneri in 2022, has been effectively frozen out of the team for over a year and a half.
Origi, who was signed as a free agent from Liverpool, made just 27 appearances and scored two goals during his time at Milan. His last appearance in the Milan jersey was in May 2023, and he was loaned out to Nottingham Forest for the 2023-24 season.
Despite returning to Milan in July 2024, Origi was relegated to the Milan Futuro youth team in a bid to force him out of the club. However, he seemed content to continue collecting his wages without playing, earning €300,000 per month, or around €4m net per season.
According to reports, Origi didn’t even bother to train with the Milan Futuro side, instead choosing to work with a personal trainer in Rome and Florence.
