AC Milan emerges as the biggest spender in Serie A, investing €164m in new signings, followed closely by Juventus and Atalanta.

The 2025 summer transfer window has officially closed, and Serie A clubs have been busy signing new talent. According to Transfermarkt, AC Milan has taken the top spot in terms of transfer spending, investing a whopping €164m in new signings.

Milan’s closest rivals in terms of transfer spending are Juventus, who invested approximately €137.3m in new signings. Atalanta follows closely, with a total spend of nearly €125.8m. These three clubs have clearly been active in the transfer market, snapping up top talent to strengthen their squads.

Another notable mention is Como, who made a significant impact in the January transfer window as the highest spenders in Serie A. Despite not being a traditional powerhouse, Como has managed to secure a spot in the top five biggest spenders for the summer window, with a total investment of €107.45m.

In contrast, some clubs took a more cautious approach. Lazio, for instance, spent nearly €30m, but this was primarily to make loan moves permanent, such as signing Nicolò Rovella from Juventus and Nuno Tavares from Arsenal. The Biancocelesti were unable to welcome new players due to a transfer embargo. Genoa, on the other hand, adopted a highly conservative strategy, opting for free signings and loan transfers instead of investing in new players.

Other notable spenders in Serie A include Napoli (€115m), Inter (€92.7m), and Fiorentina (€90.9m). These clubs have clearly been active in the transfer market, looking to strengthen their squads and compete for top honors in the upcoming season.

The transfer window may be closed, but the real test begins now – on the pitch, where these new signings will face the ultimate challenge: delivering results and helping their teams achieve success.
