Dusan Vlahovic’s header in the second half secured a 1-0 win for Juventus over Genoa.

Juventus secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Genoa, thanks to a decisive header from Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian striker came off the bench and scored the winning goal, capitalising on an error from the Genoa defence.

The match was a closely contested affair, with both teams creating scoring opportunities. Genoa’s Mikael Ellertsson had a promising chance in the opening minutes, but Michele Di Gregorio made a crucial save.

Juventus thought they had taken the lead just before halftime when Federico Gatti swept home from close range, but Nicola Leali made an incredible one-handed reaction save.

The first half ended goalless, with both teams having chances to take the lead.

In the second half, Vlahovic’s introduction changed the dynamics of the game. He scored the winning goal, heading home from six yards after Genoa’s zonal marking system failed.

Genoa pushed hard for an equaliser, but Juventus’ defence held firm. Di Gregorio made another crucial save to deny Caleb Ekuban’s curler, and then Patrick Masini’s header hit the crossbar in stoppage time.

Despite the loss, Genoa had several chances to score, and their zonal marking system ultimately cost them the game. Juventus, on the other hand, showed their ability to grind out a win, even when things weren’t going their way.

The win marks another crucial three points for Juventus, who are looking to strengthen their position in the league. Vlahovic’s goal was his second decisive strike off the bench this season, and it shows his ability to impact games from the substitutes’ bench.
