Two fixtures in England and a reunion with an old Blaugrana at Montjuic
Barcelona will face Paris Saint-Germain in the group stage of the Champions League this season, after the draw was held in Monaco on Thursday.
La Blaugrana will welcome ex-player and treble-winning manager Luis Enrique to Catalonia again, after last facing him in 2024 when PSG won 4-1 to overturn a 3-2 first leg defeat and advance to the semi-finals ahead of Barcelona.
Interestingly, the other time Enrique has managed a Champions League fixture between the two clubs was as Barcelona manager in 2017, when his Catalan side lost 4-0 but in the second leg he oversaw the Remontada, the greatest comeback in European footballing history.
Enrique will not be visiting Camp Nou, as Barcelona are yet to receive clearance to play in the stadium and will therefore play all of their Champions League home fixtures at Montjuic
Barcelona’s other intriguing fixtures include Chelsea, whom they last faced in 2018, at Stamford Bridge, and Newcastle on Tyneside. The last time the La Liga giants faced the Magpies was in 2003.
