Rafael Leao is unlikely to feature for AC Milan in their upcoming Serie A match against Lecce due to a calf injury sustained during the Coppa Italia.

AC Milan’s star player, Rafael Leao, is expected to miss the team’s upcoming Serie A match against Lecce this weekend.

Leao picked up a calf injury during Milan’s Coppa Italia victory over Bari earlier this month, which forced him to miss the team’s first Serie A match of the season against Cremonese.

The 26-year-old has been training individually and is not expected to feature in the match against Lecce, which is scheduled to take place on Friday evening. Milan’s coach, Massimiliano Allegri, is likely to stick with his preferred 3-5-2 formation, with Christian Pulisic and Santiago Gimenez leading the line.

Leao’s absence will leave Milan with limited options in attack, with Samuel Chukwueze being the only real alternative.

The injury is a blow to Milan’s chances of securing a win against Lecce, and Allegri will need to carefully consider his team selection. Pulisic and Gimenez have formed a strong partnership up front, and they will likely be tasked with creating scoring opportunities for the team.

Milan’s upcoming match against Lecce is set for Friday, August 29, at the Via del Mare stadium in Lecce.
