Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard suffer injuries in the win over Leeds United, with Saka set to miss up to four weeks of action

Bukayo Saka’s injury woes continue to plague him, as the 23-year-old winger is expected to miss up to four weeks with a hamstring injury sustained during Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Leeds United. Saka, who scored Arsenal’s second goal in the match, pulled up clutching his hamstring and was substituted off in the 54th minute.

This latest setback means Saka will likely miss Arsenal’s crucial Premier League match against Liverpool on Sunday, as well as England’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The injury is a significant blow to Arsenal, given Saka’s pivotal role in their attacking lineup.

However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta remains optimistic that Saka won’t be a long-term casualty, despite the player’s history of hamstring issues. Saka missed three months of last season with a similar injury, but the club’s deeper pool of attacking talent this season, including Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze, provides some relief.

Meanwhile, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard suffered a shoulder injury during the same match and is doubtful for the Liverpool game.

Odegaard was replaced in the first half due to the injury and left the Emirates Stadium with his shoulder in a sling. Although scans are pending, Arteta hopes Odegaard might still be available for the match against Liverpool.
