The 2025/26 Bundesliga season begins this evening, and Bayern Munich opens the floodgates with a fixture against RB Leipzig.

Bayern Munich won the 2024/25 Bundesliga title under Vincent Kompany, reclaiming the title from rivals Bayer Leverkusen.
The last Bundesliga season saw Harry Kane win the Bundesliga golden boot for the second season in a row, winning the league’s best player of the year award, while Olise, who had a brilliant first season in the Bundesliga, won Bayern’s player of the season award.
In preparation for the new season, Bayern had a good run at the Club World Cup and also won the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup last week after beating VFB Stuttgart 2-1.
Bayern have made a few additions to their squad with Luis Diaz and Jonathan Tah joining from Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen. Bayern Munich also has a huge injury challenge following Musiala’s injury at the Club World Cup.
The Bundesliga champions have also seen Kingsley Coman leave for Al Nassr. RB Leipzig, on the other hand, has seen Benjamin Sesko join Manchester United.
Both clubs will be looking for a positive start to the new season; however, Leipzig doesn’t have a good record against Bayern, recording 2 losses in their past four games, and Kompany will be hoping he can sustain this record.
