Arsenal have been forced back into the transfer market as forward Kai Havertz has suffered a knee injury.

Arsenal’s summer transfer window, which saw the club splashing out nearly $270 million, has taken an unexpected turn with Kai Havertz’s knee injury. Havertz was notably absent from Wednesday morning’s open training session at Emirates Stadium, fueling speculation about the severity of the injury. According to reports, Havertz’s absence will leave Arsenal short on attacking options, with Gabriel Jesus still recovering from an ACL injury.

Mikel Arteta will have to rely on his remaining attacking options, including Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri, and Raheem Sterling, to fill the gap left by Havertz’s absence.

Viktor Gyökeres and Noni Madueke, signed from Sporting CP and Chelsea, respectively, were expected to bolster the front line, but depth remains a concern. Arsenal’s top target, Alexander Isak, is now virtually off the market following a dramatic fallout with Newcastle United, and the Magpies have refused to budge unless their $190 million valuation is met.

With Havertz sidelined, Arsenal’s attacking lineup will rely heavily on new signings and youth players. Arteta might consider repurposing midfielders or promoting academy graduates.

The injury blow has raised concerns about Arsenal’s depth in attack, and the club will need to act quickly to strengthen their squad. With a busy schedule ahead, Arteta will be hoping to find a solution to the team’s attacking woes and maintain the team’s momentum in the Premier League and Champions League. Arsenal fans are calling for the club to sign a replacement, with some suggesting Rodrygo from Real Madrid as a potential target.
