Bayer Leverkusen are now in the running to sign Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku, challenging Bayern Munich’s interest in the talented forward.
The transfer saga surrounding Christopher Nkunku just got more interesting. Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly joined the pursuit of the Chelsea forward, throwing their hat into the ring alongside Bayern Munich.
Nkunku, who previously shone at RB Leipzig, has been a target for Bayern Munich, but Leverkusen’s interest could drive up the transfer fee.
Bayern Munich had been the sole Bundesliga suitor for Nkunku, but Leverkusen’s entry changes the dynamics. Chelsea are reportedly willing to sell Nkunku for around €40-50 million, but it’s uncertain whether Leverkusen will make a concrete offer.
Other clubs, including Newcastle United and Inter Milan, are also monitoring Nkunku’s situation. Inter Milan, in particular, has been struggling to sign Ademola Lookman from Atalanta, which might shift their focus to Nkunku.
With multiple clubs vying for his signature, Nkunku’s future remains uncertain. Bayern Munich had previously agreed on personal terms with Nkunku, but Chelsea’s persistence on a permanent transfer has stalled the deal.
Leverkusen’s interest might force Bayern to reconsider their offer or risk losing out on the French forward.
