The La Liga champions were relaxed and played at 50 per cent, says head coach

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has said he was dissatisfied with his side’s performance against Mallorca on Saturday despite winning 3-0.

Goals from Raphinha and Ferran Torres put Barcelona in control inside the first 25 minutes before their opponents were reduced to nine men before half-time.

Mallorca’s Manu Morlanes was dismissed for a second yellow card, followed moments later by Vedat Muriqi, who caught goalkeeper Joan Garcia with a high boot.

The hosts played more than 50 minutes two players down, but Barcelona added only one further goal, with Lamine Yamal scoring in stoppage time.

“I didn’t like the match,” said Flick. “It’s three important points, but I didn’t like it.

“After going 2-0 up and with Mallorca getting two red cards, I think the team played at 50 percent and I didn’t like it. We can do better.

“I will talk with them. I don’t like them relaxing. We had to control the ball and the game. We have to score more.

“Playing at 50 or 60 percent against nine players is not possible. We have to play faster. We have to improve in certain areas.”

Barcelona’s second goal brought controversy, with Mallorca defender Antonio Raillo left on the ground after being struck in the head by the ball. The referee did not stop play, and Torres finished the move.

Flick said he understood Mallorca’s frustration but said he has told the players they have to “play until the referee stops the match”.

“It’s the referee’s decision and we have to accept it,” said Flick. “If I were on the other side, I wouldn’t be happy.”
