Neither Rashford nor first choice goalkeeper Garcia have been registered as of Friday evening

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has admitted his frustration as the club continues to wait for the registration of several players ahead of Saturday’s La Liga opener against Mallorca.

The Spanish champions have been given clearance by La Liga to register Garcia, signed for €25m from Espanyol, by reallocating 80% of the injured Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s salary towards a replacement.

The German goalkeeper is expected to be sidelined for more than four months after back surgery.

However, Barcelona are yet to create room in their wage bill to register Rashford, who joined on a season-long loan from Manchester United.

This week, the board committed their personal wealth to underwrite a €7m bank guarantee to help make the registration possible. On Friday, the club announced they had raised an additional €11m from selling the remainder of Francisco Trinco’s rights to Sporting.

Despite those steps, neither Rashford nor first choice goalkeeper Garcia have been registered as of Friday evening.

Flick said: “You can imagine I’m not happy about that, but I know the situation and I believe in the club. We have to wait until [Saturday]. We just focus on what we can change, and for the rest, I trust the club.”
