Fenerbahce Makes Official Bid for Zinchenko

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Fenerbahce has made a formal offer to sign Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko, with talks underway between the two clubs.

Fenerbahce has submitted an official bid to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal, according to reports.

The Turkish club’s interest in the Ukrainian defender is driven by manager Jose Mourinho, who wants to utilize Zinchenko as a number six in midfield. Zinchenko’s versatility and ability to cover multiple roles make him an attractive prospect for Fenerbahce.

The 28-year-old has become a fringe player at Arsenal, falling down the pecking order for the left-back role due to the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly, Riccardo Calafiori, and Jurrien Timber.

With his contract expiring next summer, Arsenal is likely to sanction the move if the right offer is made. The Gunners are reportedly seeking around £13 million for Zinchenko, which represents a decent value considering his potential transfer worthiness.

Zinchenko’s wages are on the higher side at £150,000 per week, but Fenerbahce can afford to match the package due to the low taxes in Turkey.

Fenerbahce sporting director Devin Ozek recently met with Arsenal representatives in London to discuss the potential transfer. A deal could be finalized soon, pending Zinchenko’s approval.

Arsenal is preparing for a busy week, with potential exits for Reiss Nelson, Fabio Vieira, Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Karl Hein. The club is also open to offers for Jakub Kiwior and Leandro Trossard. The Gunners are looking to streamline their squad and generate funds to finance new signings.
