Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez is set to join Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League for a fee of €65m, outpacing bids from Milan and Napoli.
Darwin Nunez is set to join Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. According to reports, Liverpool and Al-Hilal have reached an agreement for Nunez’s transfer, with the fee set at €65m including bonuses.
The deal for Nunez surpasses the cost of the most expensive Serie A signing this summer, Sam Beukema’s €31m move to Napoli from Bologna. AC Milan, who had expressed interest in Nunez, have been outpriced by Al-Hilal, and the club’s attention is now focused on finding alternative targets.
Nunez’s salary requests reportedly played a role in Serie A clubs’ inability to secure his services. The player’s demands were deemed too high for clubs in the Italian league, paving the way for Al-Hilal’s successful bid.
Milan is still in the market for a new centre-forward to complement Santiago Gimenez. Juventus’s Dusan Vlahovic is reportedly a top target, with Breel Embolo and Rasmus Hojlund also being considered. The Rossoneri will need to navigate the transfer market carefully to find the right fit for their team.
