Winger says scoring with No 10 shirt was “a very special feeling”
Lamine Yamal scored for the first time in Barcelona’s No 10 shirt as the La Liga champions cruised to a 7-3 win over FC Seoul in the second match of their Asia tour.
Yamal, who turned 18 this month, scored twice in the first half and added an assist in the iconic shirt once worn by legends of the game Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho before him.
“I’m very happy to have scored with this jersey,” said Yamal. “It was a childhood dream to play and score with the No 10 jersey. It is a very special feeling.”
Barcelona had raced into a 2-0 lead within 20 minutes through Robert Lewandowski and Yamal, but Seoul responded with two goals from Cho Young-Wook and Yazan Al-Arab. Yamal restored the lead just before the break with a composed finish after good work from Frenkie de Jong.
Flick made 11 changes at half time, with Marcus Rashford coming on. The England forward was lively but unable to find the net.
Barcelona’s other forward Ferran Torres scored twice either side of FC Seoul’s third goal, while Andreas Christensen and Gavi also got on the scoresheet.
The result follows a 3-1 victory over Vissel Kobe in Japan earlier this week, and Barcelona will conclude their Asian tour with a match against Daegu FC on 4 August.
