Inter Milan are confident that Denzel Dumfries will stay with the club despite interest from Barcelona and Premier League clubs, with his €25m release clause expiring today.

Inter Milan are breathing a sigh of relief as the deadline for Denzel Dumfries’ €25m release clause approaches.

Despite interest from top clubs like Barcelona and Premier League sides Manchester United and Aston Villa, no formal offers have been made to Inter. With less than 12 hours left before the clause expires, it seems unlikely that Barcelona or any other club will make a bid.

Dumfries signed a new contract with Inter in November, tying him to the club until the summer of 2028. The deal included a release clause, which has been a major concern for Inter. However, with no offers on the table, Inter is confident that Dumfries will stay with the club.

The Dutch wing-back has been a key player for Inter, and the club values him highly. Inter’s confidence in retaining Dumfries stems from the lack of formal offers and the player’s apparent commitment to the club. Dumfries has expressed his love for Inter and has been discussing a contract renewal with the club.

While Barcelona has been considering a move for Dumfries, no official bid has been made. Premier League clubs like Manchester United and Aston Villa have also shown interest, but they are not expected to make an offer before the deadline.

Dumfries’ release clause is set to expire today, and if no clubs activate it, Inter will have more control over the situation.
