Roma is reportedly willing to listen to offers for Artem Dovbyk, just one season after his €30.5m move to the Stadio Olimpico, due to his injury struggles and inconsistent form.

Roma’s summer transfer window is shaping up to be an interesting one, with the club reportedly open to offers for centre-forward Artem Dovbyk.

The Ukraine international joined the Giallorossi in the summer of 2024 for a significant fee, but his first season in Serie A was marked by inconsistency and injury struggles.

Despite finishing as the LaLiga top goalscorer with Girona in the 2023-24 campaign, Dovbyk struggled to replicate that form in Italy.

Dovbyk’s injury battles have been a major concern for Roma, with the player missing significant time due to knee problems, including an inflamed tendon and muscular complications. These issues have continued into the pre-season, with Dovbyk missing half of Roma’s training preparations.

The club hopes that he will be able to return in time for their upcoming friendlies against Aston Villa and Everton.

Given Dovbyk’s injury struggles and inconsistent form, Roma no longer consider him to be an indispensable player.

The club is reportedly prepared to listen to appropriate offers for the centre-forward, but it will take a minimum offer of €35m to take him away from the Stadio Olimpico. This valuation reflects the fact that Roma would need to identify and close a deal for a new attacker if Dovbyk were to leave.

Dovbyk’s first season in Serie A was marked by flashes of brilliance, but he ultimately failed to live up to expectations. He scored 12 goals in 32 Serie A appearances, but his inconsistency and injury problems made it difficult for him to establish himself as a regular starter.

The reports of Roma’s willingness to sell Dovbyk come as no surprise, given his struggles to adapt to the Serie A.

However, the club’s valuation of €35m suggests that they still believe in the player’s potential and are looking for a fair deal. If Roma do decide to sell Dovbyk, they will need to find a suitable replacement to strengthen their attack and improve their chances of success.
