Bayern Munich has agreed a deal with Liverpool for Luis Diaz, worth up to €75 million, with the Colombian forward set to sign a contract until 2029.
Bayern Munich has finally agreed on a transfer fee with Liverpool for Luis Diaz after weeks of negotiations.
The deal is worth up to €75 million, and Diaz will sign a contract with the German giants until 2029. The Colombian forward will earn an annual salary of €14 million, making him one of the highest-paid players in the Bundesliga.
Diaz handed in a transfer request to Liverpool two weeks ago, and he has already agreed on personal terms with Bayern Munich. The final details of the deal are being sorted, and Diaz is set to travel to Munich in the coming days to complete his medical.
Despite interest from Barcelona, Bayern were always Diaz’s preference, and he is excited to join the German champions.
Diaz has been with Liverpool since 2022, when the Reds signed him from Porto for €45 million with €15 million in add-ons.
During his time at Anfield, Diaz has made over 100 appearances and won the FA Cup and EFL Cup. He also finished as a Champions League runner-up and helped Liverpool win the Premier League title last season, scoring 13 times in 36 league appearances.
The transfer fee for Diaz could make him Bayern’s second-most expensive player, behind only Harry Kane, who signed from Tottenham for €95 million. However, Bayern are clearly willing to invest in top talent to strengthen their squad and compete for major honors.
Diaz has traveled with Liverpool to Tokyo for their pre-season tour, but will join up with his Bayern teammates this week. He could make his first appearance for the German champions as early as next week when Bayern host Lyon in a pre-season friendly.
