Arsenal will soon officially complete the signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, with the deal worth £63.5m including add-ons and the player agreeing to a five-year contract.
Arsenal are set to finalize the signing of Viktor Gyokeres, with the club reportedly reaching an agreement with Sporting CP. The deal, worth £63.5m including add-ons, will see Gyokeres join the Gunners on a five-year contract. The 27-year-old striker will earn a net salary of £7.2m per year, which is approximately £138,000 per week.
The negotiations between the two clubs have been ongoing, with the add-ons being a major point of contention. However, according to reports, Arsenal has agreed to spread the bonus payments over the length of Gyokeres’ contract, paving the way for the deal to be finalized.
Gyokeres has already agreed to personal terms with Arsenal and is expected to undergo a medical examination before the deal is officially announced. The striker has been following a strict individual training program and is determined to participate in the pre-season tour.
The Swedish international has been impressive in the Bundesliga, scoring 54 goals in 52 games for Sporting CP last season.
In addition to Gyokeres, Arsenal is also expected to confirm the signing of Valencia centre-back Cristhian Mosquera. The 21-year-old has recently traveled to Singapore from London, suggesting that an official announcement is imminent. Mosquera could make his non-competitive debut against Newcastle United or Tottenham Hotspur this month.
