Winger says the club will “achieve a lot of good things” next season

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has said the club are aiming for a “top five” finish ahead of the start of the new Premier League campaign.

Speaking ahead of the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, Amad said: “A good season will be top five. I hope we can achieve that top five at the end of the season because I think we would deserve it.

“I think the fans have to be patient with us. There’s a new manager, with new players and new tactics, so we know last season wasn’t really good for the team.

“But I think this season we will win a lot with him and I hope we are going to achieve a lot of good things by the end of the season.”

United endured a poor 2024-25 campaign, finishing 15th in the league and losing the Europa League final to Tottenham. However, Amorim has already begun reshaping the squad this summer. Summer arrivals Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon both made their unofficial debuts in a goalless friendly with Leeds over the weekend.

Bryan Mbeumo has completed his move from Brentford and the club are still in the market for a striker, having identified a lack of goals as a major problem with the squad last season.
