Noni Madueke has spoken out after Arsenal’s fanbase reacted negatively to his transfer from Chelsea, saying he’s ‘very happy’ and ‘excited’ to join the Gunners.

Noni Madueke has broken his silence after Arsenal’s toxic fan reaction to his transfer from Chelsea. The 23-year-old winger has joined the Gunners on a five-year deal worth up to £52million, becoming the club’s fourth signing of the summer. 

Despite the hostile reaction from some supporters, Madueke expressed his excitement to be part of the Arsenal “family.”

The hashtag #NoToMadueke trended on social media when the transfer was first announced, with some fans even starting a petition to demand the club drop their interest. A mural outside the Emirates was also defaced with abusive language directed at manager Mikel Arteta.

However, Madueke seems undeterred, saying he’s looking forward to the challenge and is delighted to be part of the Gunners.

Madueke’s message to Arsenal fans comes after former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand condemned the toxic reaction, branding it an “utter disgrace.” 

Ferdinand emphasized that fans should be celebrating Madueke’s transfer, rather than vilifying and bullying him. He also urged people to put themselves in Madueke’s shoes and imagine how he must be feeling.

The 23-year-old winger will miss Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Asia due to his participation in the Club World Cup with Chelsea. He will join his new teammates in early August, ready to make his debut for the Gunners. 

Madueke’s signing has divided Arsenal’s fanbase, with some supporters questioning his ability after a disappointing season in the Premier League.

Despite the criticism, Madueke is determined to prove himself at Arsenal. He expressed his ambition to win all the competitions he’s in and help the team in every way he can. The England international is also looking to grow as a player and a person, and he’s excited to be part of the Arsenal “family.”
