Majority of arrests were related to public disorder, violent incidents, and possession of drugs
Manchester United supporters were arrested more than fans of any other club in England during the 2024-25 football season, according to latest UK policing figures.
A total of 121 United fans were arrested across all competitions, placing the club at the top of the list among teams across the top six tiers of English football.
The majority of these arrests were related to public disorder (32%), violent incidents (22%) and possession of Class A drugs (19%).
Manchester City registered the second-highest number of arrests, with 94, followed by West Ham United with 77. The east London club had topped the arrest charts in each of the three previous seasons.
Across England and Wales, there were 1,932 football-related arrests recorded at matches last season. This was an 11% drop from 2023-24, which saw 2,167 arrests.
UK Policing Minister Diana Johnson said the lower figure reflected improvements in matchday security and policing strategies.
“Police up and down the country work incredibly hard to ensure football stadiums are safe, so we can all enjoy our national game,” Johnson said.
“Today’s statistics show that these efforts are paying off and strong action is being taken to stop violence and disorder from ruining football.”
