AC Milan’s new sporting director, Igli Tare, is preparing a move for Real Madrid’s Fran Garcia to replace Theo Hernandez, who departed for the Saudi Pro League.

AC Milan is reportedly eyeing Real Madrid’s Fran Garcia as the ideal replacement for Theo Hernandez, who left for Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League for €25 million.

Garcia, a 25-year-old left-back, has been identified by Milan’s technical team, led by Massimiliano Allegri, as a perfect fit for the team. Despite shining at the Club World Cup and gaining prominence last season due to an injury crisis in Real Madrid’s backline, Garcia has struggled to cement his spot in the starting lineup.

The arrival of Álvaro Carreras from Benfica for around €50 million has further complicated Garcia’s situation at Real Madrid. Carreras is expected to slot into the starting lineup, potentially relegating Garcia to a secondary role.

However, Garcia may not have to accept this fate, as Milan is keen on snapping him up. The Rossoneri believe Garcia’s energy, attacking intent, and dynamism down the left flank would be highly valued in the Italian league.

Milan’s good relationship with Real Madrid could facilitate negotiations, with Los Blancos expected to demand around €20 million for the defender. Reports suggest that Garcia’s price could be lower than €20 million due to Real Madrid’s signing of Carreras. Garcia’s potential transfer fee is estimated to be around €18-20 million, with a salary of €2.5 million per year.

Fran Garcia’s skills align well with Milan’s playing style under Allegri. He offers flexibility in attack and defense, making him an attractive prospect for the Rossoneri. If Milan decides to pursue Garcia, they may need to act quickly to initiate talks and secure his services.

Garcia’s current situation at Real Madrid is uncertain, with Xabi Alonso not seeing him as an undisputed starter. Despite this, Alonso doesn’t want to part ways with Garcia, who has shown improvement as a left-back. The final decision will depend on negotiations between Milan and Real Madrid.
