Chelsea captain Reece James believes his team can surprise many in the Club World Cup final against PSG, despite the French side being favourites.

Chelsea captain Reece James is confident that his team can pull off an upset in the Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite PSG’s strong performance in the tournament, James believes that Chelsea has the potential to surprise many. “We are expecting a tough game, don’t get me wrong, they’re an amazing team, but we are an amazing team, and I think we will surprise a lot of people,” James said.

Chelsea has been in impressive form, winning 13 of their last 15 matches across all competitions. They have also kept seven clean sheets during this period and have qualified for the Champions League.

James attributes the team’s success to their hard work and dedication. “We have come a long way in our journey from where we started, and we are all looking forward to the game,” he added.

PSG, on the other hand, have been dominant in the tournament, scoring the most goals and conceding the least.

However, James is not intimidated by the French side’s statistics. “Stats, data, favourites, not favourites, it doesn’t mean much to me or the team,” he said. “It’s something that makes other people happy.”

For James, the upcoming match is a clash between two great young teams on the biggest stage. “This is two great young sides playing against each other on the biggest stage, and we are going to go toe-to-toe,” he stated. Chelsea will look to use their attacking prowess to outmaneuver PSG and secure a victory.

James also emphasised that Chelsea will prepare for the match like any other game. “I think we will prepare as if we’re playing another game,” he said. “It’s a final, but we prepare every game like we want to win.” With this mindset, Chelsea is ready to take on PSG and give it their all in the Club World Cup final.
