Player officially turns 18 on Sunday but brought birthday celebrations forward by a day due to Barcelona’s resumption of pre-season activities on Sunday
Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has marked his 18th birthday with a quiet family gathering, ahead of his return to pre-season duties this weekend.
Yamal officially turns 18 on Sunday, but he brought his birthday celebrations forward by a day due to Barcelona’s resumption of pre-season activities on Sunday. The teenager is not being given special treatment by the club despite the occasion and will report at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training ground as planned alongside his teammates.
The Spain international celebrated on Saturday with a private dinner at La Cupula in Garraf, just outside Barcelona. Attendees included his parents, younger brother, grandmother, and a handful of close friends.
Yamal was presented with a Dragon Ball-themed lithograph depicting the player with his mother and brother, and then a matching three-tier cake flavoured with cream and dulce de leche.

While the dinner was a family affair, there are reports that the player will hold another celebration in Ibiza later this month. According to Spanish outlet COPE, Yamal has planned an invite-only party on the island, with a guest list that includes fellow players, friends and celebrity performers.
Guests have reportedly been asked not to bring phones, in order to keep the event private and off social media.
