Teenager will spend a year on loan at Lausanne-Sport, which is also owned by INEOS
Manchester United have confirmed the signing of French youth international Enzo Kana-Biyik, with the 18-year-old forward set to spend the 2025-26 season on loan at Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland.
Kana-Biyik joins United after leaving Ligue 1 side Le Havre as a free agent. However, based on FIFA’s compensation system for youth development, United will pay a small fee in the region of a few hundred thousand pounds to Le Havre.
Although Kana-Biyik has not yet made his senior debut, his performances for Le Havre’s U19 team have attracted attention. He scored nine goals and provided one assist in 16 appearances last season, earning him a call-up to the France U-18 national side in March. He has since featured seven times at that level.
United plan to send Kana-Biyik immediately on loan to Lausanne-Sport, who are also owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS. The Swiss club finished fifth in the Super League last season and are expected to offer regular first-team minutes to the young forward.
Kana-Biyik is viewed as a long-term project for United rather than an immediate solution. The club are still reshaping their first-team attack this summer. Matheus Cunha joined from Wolves last month, and United are pushing to complete a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who has informed his current club of his desire to move to Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, first-team regulars Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Jadon Sancho have been granted extended time off after the summer break, although Rashford has already returned early to Carrington.
