Player scored 42 goals for Barcelona last season; club have option to extend his contract until 2027

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has made it clear he’s not thinking about leaving the club, despite serious interest from Saudi Pro League.

The 36-year-old said his future remains at Barcelona, where he still has a contract until 2026.

“I’ve won more than 30 titles in my career. But I’m ready for more. It’s not an issue for me. I’ll stay next season,” Lewandowski told Bild.

“Right now, all I have on my mind is Barcelona. Our team will be even better next season.”

Lewandowski scored 42 goals in all competitions last season to finish as Barcelona’s top scorer, despite his age. His goals helped the club win both La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

The expectation at Barcelona is that he will lead the line once again next season as they aim to build on their domestic success. The club still hold an option to extend the Poland international’s contract by another year until 2027, although they’ve not made a decision on that yet.

Interested Saudi sides may return with stronger offers later in the summer, hoping the Pole may reconsider. But after a standout campaign where he proved he can still deliver consistently for one of the best teams in the world, it might be difficult to convince the striker to swap Spain for the Saudi Pro League.
