United open to a Hojlund exit if the Norwegian wants to leave Old Trafford; an outright sale or a loan deal with an obligation to buy possible
Manchester United are willing to let go of struggling striker Rasmus Hojlund following interest from Inter Milan.
The Danish forward has failed to live up to expectations since his £72m arrival from Atalanta in 2023, netting just 26 goals in 95 appearances across all competitions. With United looking to raise funds for reinforcements elsewhere in their squad, Hojlund could join the list of exits.
A report from Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that a fee for Hojlund could be as low as £38 million, which would be just half of what United paid to sign him.
Despite Hojlund’s underwhelming form in England, Inter are convinced of his potential and are planning talks with United even as they participate in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The Serie A giants reportedly see Hojlund as a player who could thrive back in Italy, and the striker is said to be enthusiastic about the move. Sources close to United have revealed that the club will only sanction a deal if Hojlund truly wants to go.
However, a season-long loan deal for the player is also possible, accompanied by an obligation to buy for a higher fee than £38m next summer.
Should Inter advance their interest and the player be willing to call time on his stay at Old Trafford, Hojlund could be given a fresh start in an attacking lineup featuring Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram, after what has been two difficult years for the Norwegian.
