Paul Pogba is reportedly in advanced talks with Monaco as he seeks to return to football after serving an 18-month doping ban. The 32-year-old French midfielder, who won the World Cup with France, is looking to join Monaco on a two-year contract.

Pogba’s ban was initially four years, but he successfully appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which reduced the ban to 18 months in October. He became eligible to resume playing in March after mutually terminating his contract with Juventus.

The potential move to Monaco would mark a return to France for Pogba, who has been training privately to maintain his fitness levels. Monaco is reportedly keen on finalizing the deal in the coming days.

Pogba inadvertently took DHEA, a substance that boosts testosterone and is on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s banned list, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s ruling stated that DHEA only has an effect on performance for females.
