Brazil has officially secured its spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to take place in the US, Mexico, and Canada, under the guidance of new head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The Brazilian national team, led by Carlo Ancelotti, has qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Paraguay.
The win, thanks to a second-half goal from Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior, marked Ancelotti’s first triumph as head coach.
This result ensures Brazil’s spot in the World Cup, lifting them to 25 points with two matches remaining in the qualification campaign.
Vinícius Júnior expressed his satisfaction with the result, saying, “I’m very happy with today’s result. We needed to win at home for our fans and qualify for the World Cup — that was our goal.”
He added that the team wasn’t at its best, but the win was all that mattered.
With this qualification, Brazil maintains its perfect record, having qualified for every FIFA World Cup since the tournament’s inception in 1930.
The 2026 World Cup, set to take place in the US, Mexico, and Canada, will feature Brazil among the participating teams.
Argentina and Ecuador are the other CONMEBOL teams to have secured qualification so far. The tournament is expected to kick off in June next year, marking a historic moment as the first FIFA World Cup to be hosted by three countries.
