How many groups does the Club World Cup have, and how much will each team gain? Find out here.

The FIFA Club World Cup has undergone a significant revamp, expanding to 32 teams and taking place every four years. The 2025 edition will be held in the United States from June 15 to July 13, 2025.

Teams and Groups

The 32 teams have been divided into eight groups of four, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stages. Here are the groups:

Group A: Palmeiras, FC Porto, Al Ahly, Inter Miami.

Group B: Paris St-Germain, Atlético Madrid, Botafogo, Seattle Sounders.

Group C: Bayern Munich, Auckland City, Boca Juniors, Benfica.

Group D: Flamengo, Esperance Sportive de Tunisie, Chelsea, Los Angeles FC.

Group E: River Plate, Urawa Red Diamonds, Monterrey, Inter Milan.

Group F: Fluminense, Borussia Dortmund, Ulsan, Mamelodi Sundowns.

Group G: Manchester City, Wydad, Al Ain, Juventus.

Group H: Real Madrid, Al Hilal, Pachuca, Salzburg.

Prize Money

A total of £775 million will be distributed among the teams, with the winner earning up to £97 million. Here’s the breakdown:

Group Stages: £1.5 million for a win, £800,000 for a draw.

Round of 16: £5.8 million.

Quarterfinals: £10.1 million.

Semifinals: £16.2 million.

Finalist: £23.2 million.

Winner: £30.0 million.

In addition to the prize money, teams will also receive a participation award based on their sporting and commercial criteria, with European clubs earning more than others. The highest-ranked European clubs will receive £29.6 million, while the lowest-ranked ones will receive £9.9 million.
