The new UEFA club rankings have caused mixed reactions among the football fanbase.

UEFA has released its new club rankings, and a few big names are missing out on the top 10.

UEFA calculates its club ranking by using a point-based system over a five-year period. These points are dependent on the performance of each club in UEFA competitions. These new rankings are calculated based on the club’s coefficient over a period of five years, starting from the 2020-21 season.

In the new rankings, Real Madrid are ranked as the number one club in Europe, ahead of Manchester City, who were first last year but are now second this year. Bayern Munich and Liverpool sit in third and fourth positions, respectively. The top 5 is completed by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) who were just crowned Champions League winners.

2024/25 Champions League finalists, Inter Milan, sit in sixth position. Surprisingly, Chelsea, who have been out of the Champions League for two years, sit in seventh position, ahead of Borussia Dortmund, AS Roma, and Barcelona, who finish in 8th, 9th, and 10th position to close out the top 10.
