Liverpool are preparing for a significant squad shake-up with manager Arne Slot now ready to part ways with over ten players, including some of the most familiar faces at Anfield.

A host of fringe players have been put on an exit list this summer, according to The Daily Mail. Sources close to the club describe it as plans for a “ruthless” transfer window.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has already departed the club, with the full-back sending an emotional farewell message to fans on Wednesday following Sunday’s title parade. Darwin Nunez, who endured another inconsistent season and still looks miles away from the £85 million fee the club paid for him, is also expected to leave. It is unclear whether the Uruguayan forward can still fetch a significant fee, although several Serie A and La Liga clubs have reportedly expressed interest.

Backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is also likely to move on, seeking regular first-team football. The Irishman has impressed in cup competitions but remains behind Alisson Becker in the pecking order. Joe Gomez’s future is similarly uncertain, with reports suggesting he may be on his way out after nearly a decade at the club.

Young defender Jarell Quansah, who broke into the first team this season, is attracting offers from Premier League rivals. Though Liverpool would prefer to keep the promising centre-back, a sizable bid could test their resolve.

Harvey Elliott, a fan favourite and key contributor in recent seasons, has stirred speculation by hinting on social media that his time at the club might be nearing its end. It’s believed he could be used as part of a deal to bring in high-profile targets.

Barcelona remain admirers of Luis Diaz, who has been a key part of Liverpool’s squad in the past two seasons. The Colombian winger’s explosiveness and flair have turned heads in La Liga and the Catalan giants are reportedly weighing up a bid, although they are currently hamstrung by finances.

Kostas Tsimikas could also be on his way out if Liverpool succeed in signing Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez. The Greek international has provided solid backup to Andy Robertson but may seek more regular minutes elsewhere.

One of the key signings Liverpool are targeting for Slot’s new team is Florian Wirtz, the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder who would command a fee north of £80 million. But Liverpool will likely need to raise funds from sales to complete the deal.
