Full-back took to social media to express his gratitude for a “perfect send-off”
Trent Alexander-Arnold has officially closed the chapter on his Liverpool career, thanking supporters for giving him the “perfect send-off” following an emotional final appearance and the club’s Premier League title parade.
The 26-year-old full-back, whose Liverpool contract expires in June, is expected to complete a move to Real Madrid in the coming weeks. After confirming his decision to leave earlier this month, Alexander-Arnold made a final cameo at Anfield in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.
There were no boos like he had faced in the game against Arsenal following the announcement of his departure. Afterwards, Liverpool held a parade for their title win.
On Wednesday, Alexander-Arnold took to social media to express his gratitude.
“Perfect send-off. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I love my city,” he wrote.
Alexander-Arnold departs Liverpool having won every major trophy available: the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup. Making his first team debut under Jurgen Klopp in 2016, he has made over 300 appearances for the club and redefined the modern full-back role with his passing ability.
