Real Betis are reportedly confident of keeping Manchester United loanee Antony in Seville beyond this summer.

The Spanish club are confident that Antony can stay at the club a little longer than this season.

United’s Europa League defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur will likely have a major impact on the club’s recruitment plans, with the Red Devils currently sitting 16th in the Premier League table and unable to offer European football to their priority targets.

There were claims that Betis were keeping a close eye on the final in Bilbao and believe Antony’s desire to stay at Estadio Benito Villamarín will intensify after Wednesday night, given his parent club’s failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Antony has been a prolific figure under Manuel Pellegrini in Spain, with 13 goal contributions in 24 appearances since joining the club in January on a six-month loan deal.

Betis are reportedly confident of convincing United to sanction another loan deal for the 24-year-old, and their good relationship with the English club could facilitate negotiations. The La Liga outfit wants to convince the Mancunians that Antony could improve even more if he stays at Betis for another term. While other clubs, including La Liga rivals Villarreal and Atletico Madrid, as well as Serie A giants Juventus, have expressed interest in signing Antony, Betis’ good relationship with United and Antony’s apparent desire to stay might give them an edge.

Manchester United are prioritizing a sale for Antony, with an asking price of €40-50m as they want to raise funds for the transfer window. This has been the bone of contention for Betis regarding Antony’s transfer. Despite this, Betis remains hopeful that they can secure another loan deal or potentially a permanent transfer for the talented winger.
