Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has put an end to speculation surrounding Enzo Fernandez’s potential departure to Real Madrid, confirming that the midfielder will remain at the club. 

Maresca praised Fernandez, highlighting his importance to the team as a captain and leader, and expressed his confidence in Fernandez’s ability to improve further next season.

Maresca dismissed the speculation, stating, “Nothing to say about speculation. He’s focused on us, and this is the most important thing.” When asked directly if Fernandez is staying, Maresca replied, “Yes.”

With the confirmation of Fernandez’s status, Maresca shifted his focus to Sunday’s crucial match against Nottingham Forest, emphasizing the importance of securing a win to guarantee Champions League qualification. Maresca noted that Chelsea’s fate is in their own hands, and a victory would render other results irrelevant.

Maresca also acknowledged the pressure that comes with playing for Chelsea, stating that it’s a club where winning is expected. He spoke on the need for the team to focus on the upcoming match and then turn their attention to the Conference League final against Real Betis.
