Since joining Tottenham from Nottingham Forest, Brennan Johnson has shown promise that he can be one of the best at Spurs and this season, he has proved it.

Aged 23 years and just in his second year at Tottenham, Johnson has written his name in the walls of time at White Hart Lane. The former Nottingham forest winger has shown that he can lead a new era at Tottenham. This season he has been firing on all cylingers and has surpassed his exploits from the previous season.

His first season at Tottenham was a good one as he was just adjusting to the team’s playing style and was getting a lot of minutes from the bench. In 32 matches in the 2023/324 season, he got 5 goals and 10 assists, showing that he can be an impact sub while putting in crucial performances to fight for a place in the starting 11. 

In the 2024/25 season, Johnson got his chance to shine, and he took it. He has been one of Tottenham’s best players this season, playing a big part in not just getting to the Europa League final but also scoring the goal that won it for them. 

During the Europa League campaign, he scored 5 goals and got 1 assist in 13 games. He also earned them crucial wins by stepping up when it mattered. Some of his key moments in the campaign include coming off the bench to score the winning goal in Spurs 2-1 victory over Ferencvaros in october.

He also made Europa League history by scoring just 38 seconds into the semi-final first leg match against Bodo/Glimt, the fastest goal in a Europa League semi-final. His early strike set the tone for a 3-1 win, giving Spurs a significant advantage heading into the second leg.

In the final, his goal was the decider. He scored the only goal of the match in the 42nd minute, leading Tottenham to a 1-0 victory over Manchester United. His goal ended the club’s 17-year trophy drought and secured their place in the next season’s Champions League.

This season, he is Tottenham’s top goalscorer with 18 goals across all competition. He has come from been bullied online to doing his talking on the pitch. In the post-match interview, he said he was happy to see the club win and see his teammates celebrate. 

His contribution puts the club in a position they haven’t been in years. They are European Champions and Johnson has played a big part in it. His performances just show that there is more to come. That young warrior has dominted the Europa League and fans can only hope that he breaks even more ceilings.
