Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the club’s intent to strengthen the squad this summer, focusing on acquiring a new midfielder and striker to bolster their title aspirations.

Arteta talked about the need for reinforcements, stating, “We have very clear ideas of what we want to do. It will depend on the market, but we know what we need.”

In the midfield, Arsenal are reportedly targeting Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, with the club confident of securing his signature despite interest from Real Madrid.

Upfront, the Gunners are keen on Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres, who netted 53 goals in 51 games this season. Other potential striker targets include Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško.

Arsenal’s new sporting director, Andrea Berta, comes in with a wealth of knowledge and experience in signing proven players, and he has assured fans of significant investments in player transfers this summer, aiming to strengthen the squad’s competitiveness.

With at least £100 million allocated for summer signings, Arsenal are poised for a busy transfer window. Arteta’s strategic approach and the club’s financial backing signal a determined effort to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours in the upcoming season.

The potential addition of Zubimendi would provide much-needed balance and control in midfield, complementing the current squad. His deep-rooted connection to his boyhood club has made a move difficult in the past, but Arsenal may see this summer as the right time to bring him to North London.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal’s proactive approach in identifying and pursuing key targets reflects their ambition to elevate the squad’s quality and depth. With strategic signings in midfield and attack, the Gunners aim to build on their recent progress and mount a serious challenge for silverware in the upcoming season.
