Arsenal and Newcastle United played a very tight game in the Premier League. It was a match where there was no room for error. Every player had to be at their best. 

Arsenal needed a win to stay second in the Premier League ahead of the final day, while Newcastle could also use all three points to leapfrog Arsenal and comfortably secure Champions League football for next season. 

The match was a very close one. Raya had some fine stops in the first half to keep the game at 0-0, while Pope, on the other hand, was impressive against the firepower of the Gunners. It wasn’t an end-to-end tie but a game where caution had to be applied.

The Gunners were unable to break down Newcastle’s defence, and it could’ve been a 0-0 game until Declan Rice stepped up in the second half. His goal in the 55th minute was enough to secure all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side and guarantee them a place in the Champions League next season. 

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal faithful can now breathe a sigh of relief as they have confirmed their place in the Champions League and look set to finish second. For Rice, he once again showed that he is a rock in this Arsenal team, coming clutch once again for the Gunners. His performance this season has been brilliant, and today, he showed why he’s one of the best in the business.
