There’s a meltdown on social media and all around the football space about Arsenal having a bad season. The argument is coming off the back of Tottenham and Manchester United’s entry to the Europa League final after almost running to the ground in the Premier League.

Manchester United and Tottenham are very close to the relegation waters, although they won’t be relegated. Following this embarrassing run, especially for Manchester United, they are now in the Europa League final and coming off an unbeaten run in the Europa League, they are heavy favourites to win it.

This event now begs the question of whether they’re having a good season. Many people are asking this question in relation to Arsenal’s season as they currently sit second in the league and just went out of the Champions League. Arsenal are also going to be trophyless again, and rival fans feel, Tottenham and Manchester United are having a good season.

Is this true? No, and it also depends on your standards.

How do you measure a good season? Well, ultimately trophy is used to judge and going by that standard, Arsenal have failed woefully, but my argument is, is that all that matters? Is the trophy all there is to it?

Manchester United, Tottenham, and even Chelsea are hoping for a trophy to salvage what has been a very poor season, but that doesn’t make it seem that they have had a better season than Arsenal.

Arsenal have been the better team by far, played the best football and on paper, they have the best-performing team of all the PL teams bar Liverpool. The Gunners have had a disappointing end to a season, that’s a fact but a bad season? No. They just need to pull themselves together and put the club back where it’s supposed to be, and also get the trophies to match their efforts.
