Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca addressed the media ahead of Sunday’s crucial Premier League clash against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by the early kickoff following their midweek UEFA Conference League fixture, Maresca talked about the importance of adaptability, especially for a growing Chelsea side. “The early kickoff at Newcastle is not ideal after our midweek game, but we will adapt and prepare accordingly,” he stated.

Maresca also provided positive news on the squad’s fitness, confirming that all players are available for selection. This includes key figures like Reece James, Malo Gusto, Levi Colwill, Moisés Caicedo, and Nicolas Jackson, who were rested during the midweek European fixture.

The manager highlighted the impact of Roméo Lavia’s return, noting that his presence allows Enzo Fernández more freedom in attack, while Caicedo has adapted to an inverted right-back role to bolster midfield stability.
