Chelsea took a significant step toward the UEFA Conference League final with a commanding 4-1 victory over Swedish side Djurgarden in the semi-final first leg.
The match, held on a challenging artificial pitch in Stockholm, saw the Blues assert their dominance early on.
Jadon Sancho opened the scoring in the 12th minute, benefiting from a deflection off Djurgarden’s Marcus Danielsson. Noni Madueke doubled the lead just before halftime, finishing precisely from an Enzo Fernandez assist.
Manager Enzo Maresca made strategic substitutions in the second half, bringing on Nicolas Jackson, who capitalized on defensive errors to score twice, extending Chelsea’s lead to 4-0.
Djurgarden managed a consolation goal in the 68th minute through Isak Alemayehu Mulugeta’s header.
Despite this, Chelsea’s superiority was evident throughout the match, highlighting the gap in quality between the two teams.
With a three-goal advantage, Chelsea are well-positioned for the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
