United are planning a huge summer rebuild and a Garnacho sale would give the club substantial spending power
Manchester United are preparing for a summer of significant change and it could involve the departure of Alejandro Garnacho.
According to journalist David Ornstein, Garnacho’s exit in the summer is “highly possible”. The claim, shared via utdreport on X, has sparked a wave of speculation among fans about the Argentine winger’s future.
Despite being one of United’s brightest young talents and a regular feature in the starting lineup this season, Garnacho’s long-term role at the club appears far from certain.
United were open to a move away from Old Trafford for Garnacho in the January transfer window, but potential deals with Napoli and Chelsea fell through.
The Red Devils need to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR), and this is limiting their spending ability. A high-value sale of a homegrown player like Garnacho would ease pressure on the books, allowing the club more freedom to bring in new players for manager Ruben Amorim in the summer.
However, fellow youngster Kobbie Mainoo – another subject of transfer speculation in recent months – is expected to remain at Old Trafford, with Ornstein reporting that there is “a growing sense” that the 20-year-old will stay.
