PSG’s move for Zion Suzuki could disrupt Juventus’ goalkeeper plans. The Bianconeri may now turn to Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario as an alternative.
Juventus may have to rethink their plans for a new goalkeeper after PSG’s growing interest in Zion Suzuki complicated their hopes of bringing the Japan international to Turin.
The Bianconeri had identified Suzuki as a potential solution between the posts and appeared to be moving closer to a deal. The proposed arrangement was particularly attractive to Juventus because PSG were expected to sign the Parma goalkeeper before immediately sending him back to Serie A on loan.

That scenario would have allowed Juventus to strengthen their goalkeeping department without committing to a permanent transfer. However, PSG’s plans now appear to have changed, leaving Juventus concerned that Suzuki could remain in Paris instead.
The move had looked close to completion, with PSG expected to finalise their purchase of Suzuki before loaning him to Juventus. The deal was reportedly waiting for the Champions League winners to complete their celebrations following their 2-1 Super Cup victory over Aston Villa.
However, there has now been a slowdown in communication between the clubs, according to reports. There are also reports suggesting that Suzuki could actually become PSG’s first-choice goalkeeper this season.
Such a development would leave Juventus without the goalkeeper they had identified as one of their preferred options for the upcoming season.
Juventus Turn to Vicario
With Suzuki’s future becoming increasingly uncertain, Juventus have already started looking at alternatives.
Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario has emerged as the leading option, with the Italian goalkeeper reportedly being considered for a loan move to Turin.v
Vicario would represent a different profile from Suzuki but would offer Juventus considerable experience of both Serie A and Premier League football. The former Empoli goalkeeper already knows Italian football well and could provide an immediate solution if the Bianconeri are unable to complete their preferred deal for Suzuki.
The main obstacle, however, could be Tottenham’s willingness to sanction a straightforward loan.
Spurs may prefer to include an option or obligation to buy as part of any agreement, while Juventus appear determined to avoid a major permanent investment in goal at this stage.
Why Juventus Only Want a Short-Term Solution
Juventus’ goalkeeper search is closely linked to their longer-term plans.

The Bianconeri are reportedly looking at the possibility of making a move for Liverpool’s Alisson Becker when his contract expires in June 2027. That explains why they are reluctant to spend heavily on a goalkeeper this summer.
Suzuki was attractive precisely because a loan would have allowed Juventus to bridge the gap without compromising their future plans.
If PSG decide to keep the Japan international, however, Juventus will have to move quickly for another temporary solution. Vicario is now one possibility, although the terms of a potential deal could determine whether that interest develops into concrete negotiations.
The goalkeeper position was already an area Juventus wanted to address, but PSG’s intervention has made their recruitment strategy considerably more complicated. ,With the new season approaching, they may now have to decide whether Vicario is the right stop-gap or whether another alternative should be explored.
