Winger is interested in a move away from Paris but the club value him at around £140m

Bradley Barcola is open to a move to Liverpool as the Premier League club intensity their pursuit having missed out on Yan Diomande.

Diomande, whom Liverpool have pursued for most of the summer so far, is set to join Real Madrid in a deal worth up to €120m, forcing the Reds to seek reinforcements elsewhere. However, they may still face a major challenge with respect to Barcola’s transfer fee.

PSG are understood to value Barcola at around £140m and will consider a sale only if that valuation is met, while Liverpool are looking to negotiate a lower figure for the 23-year-old.

Barcola has two years left on his current contract and is understood to be interested in a move away from Paris. His situation has also attracted interest from several clubs, but Liverpool are in the lead.

The winger has not been a guaranteed starter under Luis Enrique at PSG, so he is willing to consider a move elsewhere. Liverpool, whose need to sign wingers only grew more urgent last season after Mohamed Salah left the club, have held an interest in Barcola for some time and previously explored the possibility of signing him when his valuation was closer to £75m.

They now face a more difficult negotiation with the much higher price on a player PSG believe has significant long-term value.
