Agreements come after both players became mainstays at the club last season
Manchester City are close to extending the contracts of Abdukodir Khusanov and Jeremy Doku, with both players expected to sign new deals that will keep them at the club until 2031.
The agreements would make clear City’s commitment to two players who have become increasingly important to the squad.
Khusanov has developed into a regular in defence since arriving from Lens in January 2025. His new contract comes after he had a breakthrough campaign and established himself in the starting line-up due to injuries to Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol. The Uzbekistan international seized the opportunity with a series of confident displays.
The centre-back finished the season with 37 appearances in all competitions as City won both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup. He also represented Uzbekistan at the country’s first World Cup this summer. His current contract runs until 2029 but confirmation of an extension is expected soon.
Similarly, Doku has become an important attacker for City, making more than 40 appearances in each of his three seasons at the Etihad Stadium and keeping City in the title race until the final weeks of last season.
He was Belgium’s key player at the World Cup this summer but had to leave mid-tournament to be present for the birth of his first child.
