Argentina’s campaign ended in heartbreaking fashion as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Spain after extra time in the World Cup final. Despite producing several crucial saves throughout the contest, Martinez was unable to prevent Ferran Torres from scoring the decisive goal.
According to reports in Italy, the 33-year-old is now ready to begin discussions over leaving Villa Park. Juventus believe this is the ideal moment to accelerate negotiations and are optimistic the goalkeeper will encourage Aston Villa to facilitate the transfer.
